A new fridge, or a new kitchen?

Hi Reader,

Almost every client who comes to me wanting a new fridge actually wants a bigger fridge.

The problem is that a bigger fridge means more room. More room means the cabinets beside it have to be modified, rebuilt, or replaced.

And all of a sudden, you’re one step closer to a much, much bigger project than you bargained for.

So before you start shopping, the first question you should be asking yourself isn’t "which fridge should I buy?"

It's "am I willing to change my kitchen for it?"

If you're already renovating, great — build the fridge you want into the plan.

But if you're not touching the rest of the kitchen, there are a bunch of things to look out for:

  • Measurements and specifications
  • The types of doors and how they swing
  • Plumbing and water lines (if you want a water dispenser and/or ice maker)

I put all of my fridge-buying advice in my latest post on what to know before buying a new fridge. Head over to the blog to give it a read!

Have a great weekend,

Gerald
